本日、ミシガン大学のElliot Soloway教授とCathy Norris教授が松ノ木小学校を訪問されました。
お二人は国際学会での招聘を受けて来日中で、日本の学校教育をぜひ見てみたいというご希望から、本校にお越しくださいました。
昨年度の中国・北京大学の先生方の訪問に続き、今回も海外の教育研究者との交流が実現できたことを、大変うれしく思います。
こうした国際的なつながりが松ノ木小に続いていることは、子どもたちにとっても貴重な学びの機会です。
授業では、子どもたちがテキストとデジタルを自在に使い分け、自分に合った方法で学んでいる姿に、先生方も大変感銘を受けていました。
「大谷選手と同じで、二刀流がいいんです！」と答えた子どもに、思わず笑顔がこぼれる場面もありました。
また、給食も一緒に楽しんでいただき、子どもたちにとっても国際交流のひとときとなりました。
残念ながら参加できなかった学級の皆さん、ごめんなさい。また次の機会にぜひ活躍をお願いします。
なお、今回の訪問はわずか一週間前の突然の依頼でしたが、通訳を快く引き受けてくださった４名の保護者の皆様には、心より感謝申し上げます。
皆様のお力添えがなければ、ここまで深い交流は実現できませんでした。本当にありがとうございました。
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Elliot Soloway and Professor Cathy Norris from the University of Michigan to Matsunoki Elementary School.
The professors are currently in Japan upon invitation to an international academic conference, and expressed a strong desire to observe Japanese elementary education firsthand.
We are honored that they chose to visit our school.Following last year’s visit from faculty members of Peking University, we are delighted to have had another opportunity for international exchange with educational researchers from abroad.
We believe that such global connections provide our students with valuable learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
During class visits, the professors were impressed to see our students skillfully using both print materials and digital tools, choosing the method that suited them best.
One student even said, “Like Shohei Ohtani, using both is the way to go!”—a comment that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
The professors also joined the students for lunch, making the visit a meaningful moment of international exchange for the children.
To the students who were unable to participate this time, we apologize. We hope you’ll have a chance to shine in the next opportunity.
Lastly, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the four parents who graciously volunteered as interpreters on very short notice—just one week before the visit.
Without your generous support, such a deep and meaningful exchange would not have been possible.
